Meger's

Framing

Balance

I believe this shows balance because the building on the right helps contrast the plants and the smoke on the left while keeping the falling building in the middle of the picture and in the middle it helps keep it balanced.

Lines

I believe this represents lines because of the windows go in a vertical position and the man is the same vertical position as the building windows.

Rule of Thirds

I chose this for rule of thirds because most of NYC is in the bottom third and the smoke from the tower is in the top third of the photo.

Simplicity

I chose this for simplicity because it just shows the main thoughts of everyone on 9/11. All of America felt the impacts of 9/11 and everyone prayed and mourned fr the families affected.

First Day Photos.

The photo to the left, I chose this one for my people picture and I like this one Because of the composition and what Richard is doing in the photo. The one above, I like this photo because the Tre looks like it is reaching out to you and it provides a nice calm look with the background. The photo on the left could use some lightening up in the foreground and the one above is just perfect.

"The Camera and Basic Functions" Answers.

1. It was a like a dark room with a small hole in one wall. Through that hole, light is focused and the outside scene is projected upside down on the wall. It was achieved because the hole acted like a lens, focusing and projecting the light onto the wall of the dark chamber.

2. Isaac Newton and Christian Huygens perfected the understanding of optics and making of high quality glass lenses.

3. A glass lens, a dark box, and film.

4. Light still passes through the lens and into the camera and exposes the film and results in a photograph.

5.  Modern digital cameras use digital film also called an electronic sensor or CCD.

6. Auto the camera does all the hard work for you, so you just have to point and shoot. Program, you can control flash and a few other features but its otherwise Auto.

7. Portrait mode is used for blurring out the background and the camera will use the fastest setting possible.

8. To freeze motion, camera will use highest shutter speed possible.

9. Photographer must change ISO, Shutter, and Aperture in full Manual mode.

10. It will auto-focus the camera and make the image clear and sharp so you don't have to manually focus the camera.

11. Flash is not being used and this is helpful when enough light is needed or flash is not wanted, or flash is prohibited.

12. The camera will decide when the flash is needed. This is helpful when lighting is changing constantly and if you don't know how/when to use the flash.

13. It will be white or everything is too bright.

14. Everything will be darker or black.

15. "Stop" is referring to how bright the light in there photo is.

16. 2 Suns would be +1 stop.

17. 4 Suns would be +2 stops.

18. A longer shutter speed gives the photo a longer time to capture the light so if its dark, a longer shutter speed is needed to get the proper light. If it is daytime, or a bright scene, then a longer shutter speed would make it too bright. Also, Longer shutter speeds could make the photo blurry if not held still.

19. Less exposed photo, a dark scene would be dark or black, a bright scene would be perfectly exposed in the photo.

20. Aperture controls the depth of focus in the photo and controls how much of the light gets let through otherwise known as F-Stops.

21. A lower aperture would let more light in and would make the focus length shorter.

Welcome to my blog

I took photo one to help with my photography to help my skills get better. I feel pretty advanced with what I know now in photography and with my camera. I just really hope to get better.
